Highland Farm Honey is made locally near Black Diamond, Alberta.

Raw, local honey has been shown to dramatically help with seasonal allergies in both animals and people. With the trace amounts of pollen found in the raw honey, the body can build up natural antibodies over time, therefore increasing the bodies ability to cope with the allergen. Pollen also contains quercetin, a powerful bioflavonoid with antihistamines which will help reduce general itchiness.

Unpasteurized, raw honey is also used topically for hot spots, dry skin and small sores as it has anti viral, anti fungal and anti bacterial properties. Raw honey also produces tiny amounts of hydrogen peroxide which is antiseptic. The enzymes in honey will also help the skin heal more quickly.

Did you know that raw honey has also been shown to slow down the hunger response? It stabilizes sugar levels, and is absorbed more slowing into the blood stream and that will slow down general digestion. If your dog struggles to lose weight, raw honey added daily may help, and it certainly couldn't hurt with all the other health benefits.

Feeding Guideline is generally 1/4 teaspoon per 10 lbs of dogs weight up to 2 teaspoons daily.

From Highland Farm Honey

"RAW HONEY, PURE AND SIMPLE.

OUR HONEY IS RAW; THAT MEANS THAT IT ISN’T PASTEURIZED OR COOKED. IT’S MADE BY EXTRACTING HONEY FROM THE HONEYCOMB AND SPINNING IT TO SEPARATE THE HONEY FROM IMPURITIES LIKE BEESWAX. RAW HONEY IS EXACTLY AS IT EXISTS IN THE BEEHIVE, AND THE NATURAL ENZYMES, AND OTHER RAW WHOLE FOOD NUTRIENTS ARE PRESERVED.

RAW HONEY IS SEMI-SOLID; WHEN LEFT AT ROOM TEMPERATURE, IT HAS A CREAMY TEXTURE, AND SPREADS SMOOTHLY AND DISSOLVES EASILY IN HOT DRINKS."
