There are many differences in the quality of DE
First you need to make sure that the product is actually food-grade and certified by the FDA. Many companies will simply put "food-grade" on their label even though it is not (much like the word "organic" or "natural"). Customers need to understand where they are buying from and should be buying from a reputable, FDA certified company. There are hundreds of deposits in the US of which only 4 are FDA certified to be food-grade.
Our DE is from fresh water deposits
DE from salt water is not as effective as those diatoms from fresh water; Their shell is less fragile. Also, diatoms from salt water contain many more species of diatoms and sediment leading to a less effective product.
Clay and sediments effects on DE
Our DE is analyzed to have less clay and sediment than other food-grade DE which again, makes them less effective. This clay and sediment clogs the pores of the diatoms. Clean, open pores are critical to DE working effectively. With that being said, our DE is truly a pure, more effective product.
INGREDIENTS;
Composed of the fossilized remains of microscopic seashells called diatoms, this safe, non-chemical alternative to chemical dewormers works by mechanically destroying parasites. Food-grade, it can be taken internally or used topically.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE;
- Small Breeds (up to 30 lbs)....................... 1/3 tsp
- Medium Breeds (31 to 50 lbs)....................1/2 tsp
- Large Breeds (51 to 75 lbs)...........................1 tsp
- Very Large Breeds (76 to 100 lbs)...........1 1/2 tsp
- Giant Breeds (over 100 lbs)................... 1 3/4 tsp
Can be given during meal time. Administer daily. Can also be sprinkled around living quarters for relief against fleas and ticks. Use caution, application is a fine powder. Do not inhale product. Dust may cause eye and respiratory irritation. Scoop included with product
